What is the 5 STAR?
It is the fully automatic, self-cleaning public restroom by Pop-Up Toilet Company, the worldwide number one in public sanitary facilities, brought by Saniprof Mexico in collaboration. It is designed, built, installed and maintained under one roof, and fully manufactured in the Netherlands.
What makes them smart?
PLC control with remote access and I-smart software. Self-diagnosis logs any anomaly online and alerts the alarm centre before a failure; the unit is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be read and controlled remotely.
How is it cleaned?
By itself: after every use the bowl is cleaned at high pressure and dried, and a patented mechanical system cleans and dries the floor; walls are sanitised too. The cabin is left 100% clean and disinfected. Optional: night-time disinfecting mist with hydrogen peroxide and silver.
Is it fully touch-free?
Yes. Handwashing, operating buttons, emergency buttons and the user interface all work touch-free, with LED lighting showing usage times and functions. Visitors can rate their visit as good, fair or poor, and that data adjusts the cleaning cycles.
How safe is it?
Doors open automatically if a user feels unwell or tries to lock themselves in; weight sensors prevent misuse; an LED timer shows the time left, 15 minutes by default and adjustable. It keeps operating during a power cut and has an emergency battery.
Can it be managed remotely?
Yes, from the Pop-Up Portal (PUP), anywhere in the world: adjust the soap dose, close the restroom temporarily, change opening hours and monitor user satisfaction. A personalised key logs every visit by cleaning and inspection staff.
Can the design be customised?
Any design, size and configuration: exterior in glass, wood, concrete, steel, cassette panels or printed plates; interior in antibacterial HPL panels in 14 colours. Installed integrated, freestanding or modular, with non-flammable or highly fire-resistant materials.
What does the site need?
A 3/4" or larger water connection, drainage with a 125 mm main connection and 240 V to 400 V three-phase power (3×25 A). The pre-visit confirms surface, access and the services available at the location.
How much water and energy does it use?
Per cycle: 3.5 L flush, 0.5 L bowl sanitising, 2.5 L floor, 0.2 L walls and 0.5 L handwash. Energy: 0.0025 kWh per sanitising cycle and 0.016 kWh for bowl drying, with LED lighting and class-A efficient underfloor heating.
Who maintains it and what is the warranty?
Installation, service and maintenance are not subcontracted. A fault is handled by a local service technician and, if more complex, by a Pop-Up Toilet Company engineer. Warranty: 2 years on technical equipment and 20 years on the structure.
Are they rented or bought?
The scheme is defined per project: rental with operation included, or installation for the operator of the space. The formal quote details the scope in each case.
